Feeding South Florida’s Choice Pantry helps families access food and essentials.

As summer begins and donations slow, Feeding South Florida’s Choice Pantry in Boynton Beach is working to keep its shelves stocked and continue serving families facing food insecurity.

The pantry welcomes 30 to 40 people each weekday, offering a grocery store experience where visitors can choose from fresh produce, proteins, canned goods, and hygiene products. The approach helps provide assistance while preserving dignity and choice.

According to Feeding South Florida, the need has increased as families face rising living costs, reduced SNAP benefits, and ongoing economic challenges. At the same time, summer typically brings fewer donations and volunteers, creating additional pressure on local food resources.

The pantry also serves students enrolled in Feeding South Florida’s Culinary Training Program, many of whom rely on the service while working toward certifications and careers in the food industry.

A recent $5,000 donation from GL Homes will help restock inventory, but organization leaders say continued community support is essential. Residents are encouraged to donate food, hygiene items, volunteer their time, or make financial contributions.

For many local families, the Choice Pantry is more than a place to pick up groceries. It is a trusted resource that provides stability, dignity, and hope when it is needed most.
