The Lord’s Place and GL Homes were up before the crack of dawn to shine a light on the inaugural March to End Homelessness, which aims to raise awareness about homelessness and foster a spirit of solidarity among community members dedicated to creating change.
The Lord’s Place Chief Advancement Officer Anne Noble and GL Homes VP of Community Relations Sarah Alsofrom spoke to reporter T.A. Walker who spotlights good news in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties through his weekday morning segments, Shining a Light.
The march will cover a 5K route through the heart of downtown West Palm Beach on February 28, offering participants the opportunity to join together and advocate for those experiencing homelessness.
The event will feature storytelling and moments of reflection, highlighting the challenges faced by the homeless population in Palm Beach County and the resources provided by The Lord’s Place to support their transition to stable housing. By shining a light on these issues, the march seeks to educate and inspire attendees to take action within their own communities.
Participants will have the chance to engage in conversations about solutions to homelessness and learn about the various initiatives that can help make a difference. The march culminates in a gathering where individuals can celebrate their commitment to the cause and share their experiences.
The March to End Homelessness represents the beginning of an ongoing grassroots movement to advocate for change, raise funds, and foster community support for those impacted by homelessness.
Thank you to early risers Charlie Bermel, Patrick Fogarty, Anthony LoFurno and Blake Pruitt from GL Homes who volunteered their time to put together 100 hygiene kits for The Lord’s Place to distribute to those experiencing homelessness. Charlie, Patrick, Anthony and Blake also folded two hundred t-shirts that will be distributed to the March to End Homelessness participants.
