While Florida’s population increases, so does the need for homeless services. There are two organizations working together to help those experiencing homelessness find housing and the social services they need.
The Lord’s Place and GL Homes teamed up to speak with WPBF Channel 25 anchor Todd McDermott on the ABC station’s public affairs program, On the Record.
Todd McDermott spoke in depth to: The Lord’s Place Chief Development Officer Anne Noble and Peer Advocate Robbie Yancy along with their client, Lenwood, plus GL Homes VP of Community Relations Sarah Alsofrom. They discussed the effective work The Lord’s Place does to help the homeless rebuild their lives.
The substantive segment focused on the Meal Mobile, a GL Homes-fund outreach program. The Meal Mobile embodies the philosophy of using food as a tool for engagement. By addressing hunger as a primary necessity, TLP can initiate conversations about meeting the needs of those they serve and ultimately ending their homelessness.
TLP client Lenwood received housing and social services from the Meal Mobile when it traveled to Belle Glade, allowing him to find permanent, supportive housing.
The Lord’s Place has transformed lives for 45 years. TLP is a social impact agency serving men, women, children and families, providing innovative, compassionate and effective services to end local homelessness for good.
